WHEN SUPERMAN MEETS THANOS

Thanos having collected all the other stones arrives on earth to get his hands on the mind stone. He walks slowly towards the robot with a jewel on his forehead and a cape over his shoulders. Having Swept away anyone who came in his way, he sauntered towards his ultimate goal.

He kept trudging towards his prey confident that no one on that planet would be strong enough to stop him.

Suddenly, a bearded guy hops onto him. The guy held his hand, his gauntlet laden hand, the hand which held the most powerful weapon in the world. A mere human stopped the mighty Thanos, the only being capable of holding 5 infinity stones at the same time.

Thanos tries to hold him back without using much power. To his surprise, the guy pushes him back. Thanos struggles to gain back his control and hits him with all his strength.

He gets pushed back by another of those so-called Avengers. Fierce, just like his daughter. She reminded him of Gamora. He felt pity for her but nothing could have stopped him.

Thanos overpowers her and captures the mind stone by killing the revived robot.

“How powerful can these mere humans get? But that doesn’t matter now. Not at all”, he mutters silently.

Just when he was about to snap, an axe penetrates deep into his chest. Someone dives onto the axe and pushes it further into his body.

“I told you, you would die for that”. The guy he had broken down on that isolated planet had returned. His spirits mended, his powers increased, his eyes shimmering with vengeance.

“You should have gone for the head,” Thanos said struggling to snap.

Thanos had touched his thumb and forefinger and was ready to complete his goal when he heard another voice of snap.

He couldn’t breathe anymore. Somebody had broken his neck.

Succumbed to his wounds he wriggled on the ground. Thanos looked at the person who had snapped his neck.

This guy wore a cape too. But he was different. He had hope in his eyes. He looked more humane and above all he was powerful. Nonetheless, Thanos kept continued his attempt to snap.

Before he could succeed, that guy yanked the gauntlet out of his hand and threw it aside.

“Who the hell are you?” Thor asked the stranger with elements of surprise yet relief in his voice. He had been encountering a lot of strangers lately.

“They call me Superman” the stranger replied. “and you wouldn’t believe me if I tell you from where I came”. Superman kneeled near Thanos and looked at him. “I never wanted to snap another neck,” he said remembering his uncle Zod.

The gauntlet lied on the ground covered with dust and Thanos watched it. His eyes wide open with terror, tears continued to seep down Thanos’ cheek.

A snap caused death, just as he wished. But it wasn’t the other half of the population who died. It was himself. It wasn’t caused by a snap of fingers but a snap of his neck.
